Omeruo ready to lead Eagles’ charge

Spanish La Liga side, CD Leganes and Super Eagles’ defender, Kenneth Omeruo believes the team’s next clash against Seychelles provides a perfect opportunity to return to winning ways following their 2-0 loss to South Africa in the opening round of the qualifiers.
The CD Leganes defender, who said that he’s fully committed to lead the Eagles’ defence against their less-fancied hosts, said the team needs to focus to get their AFCON dream back on track.
“The World Cup is behind us now; we just have to focus on the present, which is the game on Saturday. Many will rate us as favourites but there are no more minnows in African football.
“We respect every team but we are desperate to get back to the top of the table of the AFCON qualifiers, so we will approach the game with all seriousness and try to pick all maximum points,” Omeruo said.
Omeruo was clearly one of Nigeria’s best players at the last World Cup, starting two of the Eagles’ 3 games and providing 1 assist. He also completed 70% of his passes, won 67% of his tackles and won 63% of his duels.
