Rohr snub: Usman Muhammed expresses shock

Sarpsborg FC of Norway midfielder, Usman Muhammed is full of shock over his exclusion by the technical adviser of the Super Eagles, Genort Rohr from the just released team list for the forth coming Nations cup qualifying match.

In a chart with our correspondent from his base in Norway, the former U-23 midfielder noted that he was full of expectation and assurance that his name would be included in the list of invited players for the next round of the Nations cup qualifying matches.

He declared that his confidence is even built more on the premise of the assurance given to him after the Super Eagles international friendly match against Spanish giant, Athletico Madrid at the Akwa Ibom international stadium where he even scored one of the Super Eagles goals.

“After the match, the coach and several officials of the Nigeria Football Federation expressed satisfaction with my performance and regretted that the list for the world cup had already been drawn otherwise they would have considered me, but they assured me that certainly I will be considered for invitation for the Nations cup qualifiers. So I was so surprise when I saw the list and my name was completely missing,”

The player who just helped his team to secure qualification to the group stage of the Europa cup competition however noted that he bears no grudge against the technical adviser nor the NFF officials stressing that when God’s time come for him to be invited to the National team his invitation will certainly come.

“Much as I said that I am in shock, I am not angry at all with the coach. I know he is in a lot of pressure with so many good players to invite. The players he has invited will do a good job for the Nation and we all should pray for them to succeed,“ Usman maintained.

Meanwhile, Usman declared that his immediate target is to see how he can help his team do well at both their league and also at the Europa cup, “My focus now is to help my team do well in the league and also to put in everything I have to see that we qualify to the next round of the Europa cup competition. This is my target for now,” he concluded.

Usman Muhammed’s club, Sarpsborg fc are grouped in group I of the Europa cup competition. Other clubs in the group are; Besktas, Genk and Malmo fc.
