RUSSIA 2018: FA Cup win will boost Moses confidence–Rohr

Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr is expecting Victor Moses to continue his impressive form at the FIFA World Cup after lifting the English FA Cup with Chelsea on Saturday at the Wembley Stadium.

 

Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr is expecting Victor Moses to continue his impressive form at the FIFA World Cup after lifting the English FA Cup with Chelsea on Saturday at the Wembley Stadium.

“I am happy for Victor for ending the season with the FA Cup. He has worked so hard for his club and contributed excellently so he deserves it.

“I recall joking with somebody that l was expecting him to bring the FA Cup to Nigeria so that we can see it before flying to Russia.. I am always happy when our players win titles with their clubs because it helps to boost their confidence,” Rohr told Sportinglife.ng.

Rohr will be expecting the likes of Moses and other players that ended the season on a high to do well in Russia.

Following his involvement in the FA Cup final, Rohr has decided to leave out Moses from next week’s international friendly against Congo DR to enable him recover ahead of Nigeria’s friendly against the three Lions of England at the Wembley Stadium on June 2. The Nigerian who was making his third appearance in the competition played for the entire minutes of Saturday’s encounter against Manchester United.

He is the seventh Nigerian and third Chelsea player after Mikel Obi amd Celestine Babayaro to lift the trophy with the Blues. Other Nigerians who have also won the trophy are Daniel Amokachi, Alex Iwobi, John Utaka and Nwankwo Kanu.
