NIGERIA’S senior national team manager Gernot Rohr has refused to discuss the list of players he intends to use to prosecute the country’s Russia 2018 World Cup matches beginning with the opening game against Croatia on June 16, with anyone preferring to keep sealed lips on the issue.

Sportinglife.ng gathered that the manager’s selection of players would shock football pundits as he has chosen to rely on players who distinguished themselves for their clubs and Nigeria’s matches under his reign.

Sportinglife.ng gathered from those close to Rohr that the tactician has shunned all entreaties from foreign club’s scouts and agents to influence his choice of players for the Nigerian side. Indeed, the close confidant revealed he rejected all Greek gifts from them, including bribes to have their wards included in the 35-man provisional list, which he submitted to his employers last week.

Rohr, who is presently in Abuja where he held talks with his employers last week, is not talking to anyone yet about the composition of his squad. Interestingly, Rohr is being backed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) chieftains, with one of them telling Sportinglife.ng that: ” On the issue of expecting new players when he releases his 35-man squad, I will say that I don’t know his mindset on the matter. Trust me.”
