Shehu pockets N1m 1st after winning Anti-Corruption Half Marathon

Adamu Shehu of Nigerian Custom Service has emerged the winner of the maiden edition of Abuja Anti-Corruption Half Marathon with a time of 1. 04.31secs to clinch the star prize of N1m.

Shehu dethroned national half marathon holder Goyet Gideon of Civil Defence who came 2nd with a time of 1. 9. 20secs and got rewarded with cash prize of N500,000 .

The 3rd runner-up Emmanuel Gyang also of Civil Defence pocketed the sum of N200,000

In the female category, Deborah Badung of Civil Defence got richer with the sum of N1m having emerged the 1st winner of the Abuja Anti-Corruption Half Marathon with a time of 1.17.58 secs, setting also another national record. Fadekemi Olude (Civil Defence ) placed 2nd and Elizabeth Nuhu (Custom Service) came 3rd with cash prizes of N500,000 and N200,000 respectively.

Presenting the prizes to the winners , the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Ibrahim Magu thanked the organisers of the event which is used to creat awareness on the anti-corruption crusade of the agency.

He said the Anti-Corruption Half Marathon will be an annual event as a way of killing corruption in our land.

Magu specially thanked Former Super Eagles players Samson Siasia, Garba Lawal and Victor Ikpeba for finding time to be part of the marathon race.

The Abuja Anti-Corruption Half Marathon was sponsored by EFCC, ICPC, NOC,and Fair Play Sports International Agency.
