Tanzania FA gets over 100 applications to replace Amuneke 

Over a 100 applications have been received by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) for the position of head coach of the senior national team vacated by ex-Nigeria international, Emmanuel Amuneke, following the the team’s poor showing at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

This was disclosed by TFF’s general secretary, Wilfred Kidau to the local media.

“In the recruitment process, we will consider quite a lot of things from the over 100 candidates who have already applied for the job. We hope to get the best one from them.”

Tanzania lost all their three matches in the group games against Senegal, Kenya and Algeria.

TFF has assigned Ettiene Ndayiragije, who handles local side, Azam FC to handle the team in a temporary basis pending the appointment of a new head coach.

“We always want to appoint a local coach and for now, none of them has made an application,”

“But for sure the assistant coaching positions will be filled by the local lads as they will be of great need in helping the new coach familiarize with the new environment and understand the players,” Kidau said.
