Terry aims hilarious dig at Tottenham after Chelsea win

John Terry took the chance to celebrate former teammate Frank Lampard’s success and also take a dig at rivals Spurs after Chelsea’s 2-0 win over their London rivals.

It was Lampard’s first meeting with former boss Jose Mourinho, who took over at Spurs last month after Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking, and the pupil got a win over the master.

After the match Chelsea posted a video of Lampard celebrating in front of their fans on Instagram:

And in reply to the video Terry couldn’t help himself but take a shot at Spurs, saying ‘Three-point Lane. Somethings never change,’ in reference to the Blues excellent record away at their London rivals.

There was a certain irony to the game with Willian the player to make the difference in the game. The Brazilian winger opened the scoring with a brilliant strike from the edge of the area after 12 minutes and then doubled the lead in added time in the first half from the penalty spot.

When the former Shakhtar Donetsk winger moved to England he had a medical at Tottenham but Mourinho, then manager at Chelsea, stole in to sign the Brazilian.

The game was mired in controversy. First it needed VAR to give one of the most blatant penalties as Paulo Gazzaniga clearly took out Marco Alonso in the box but referee Anthony Taylor gave the Chelsea defender a yellow card.

Taylor then missed it as Son Heung-min kicked out at Antonio Rudiger, with the Blues defender making the most of the incident, with VAR correctly ruling it a red card.

Soon after Cesar Azpilicueta pointed out to the officials that Rudiger had been racially abused by a Spurs fan and another fan threw something at Kepa in the Chelsea goal.

Most satisfying to Blues fans will be seeing Lampard get one over Mourinho, especially now the former ‘Special One’ is in charge at Spurs.
