Both sides played out a pulsating goalless draw on Thursday in Abidjan but the winner in today’s confrontation at the Agege Stadium is guaranteed one of the continent’s tickets to the quadrennial event.

“Our last Olympic appearance was at Beijing 2008 in China and I believe this is a perfect time for us to return to Asia in 2020,” Falode said matter-of-factly. “The match on Monday (today) is a must-win for the Super Falcons if we are to make progress in the quest for one of the tickets to Tokyo 2020.”

Speaking further, Falode said the moment was on the side of the Super Falcons since they remain unbeaten at the Agege stadium: “Super Falcons have not lost a match at the Soccer Temple but history does not result; as such they must show the character of true champions and give their teeming fans victory against Cote d’Ivoire.”
