Tomori: ‘Special night for Milan’

Fikayo Tomori is celebrating a ‘really special night’ after scoring his debut Milan goal in a 3-0 win away to Juventus.

The Rossoneri dominated in Turin with goals from Brahim Diaz, Ante Rebic and Fikayo Tomori, but there could’ve been more, as Franck Kessie saw his penalty saved by Wojciech Szczesny.

It’s a remarkable result considering Milan had lost their last nine trips to Turin, but also means they now have a superior head-to-head record with Juve in case they do finish on level points.

“It was a really special night for us,” Tomori told Milan TV.

“I am happy to have scored my first goal, but the most important thing is that the team got the victory. This result and the goal made it such a special night.”

The ultras waved the team bus off at the training ground this morning with flags, flares and chants.

“Our fans were marvellous. They gave us so much support. It was wonderful to see the passion of the fans and sad they couldn’t be with us in the stadium.

“I really wasn’t used to that sort of thing, it surprised me. This result was a gift for them,” added the Chelsea-owned defender.

Milan are currently joint second with Atalanta – who they face in the final round – on 72 points, followed by Napoli on 70 and Juventus 69.

“This victory gives us an advantage, but we’ve achieved nothing yet. Now we have to continue like this and concentrate on Torino first, then Cagliari and Atalanta.”
