Tornadoes’ Yusuf available for Aiteo Cup final

Niger Tornadoes will the luxury of calling upon their left back, Olayinka Yusuf for the crunch Aiteo Cup final game with Kano Pillars today at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

Yusuf who has been super regular in the Ikon Allah’s side impressive display in the 2019 Aiteo Cup copped an injury in their quarter final win over Lagos based, Smart City and he was unavailable for their semi final surprise victory over Rivers United at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
The head coach of Tornadoes, Abubakar Bala told SportingLife.ng that he is delighted to welcome the return of the defender ahead of the final duel.
He noted that even though Yusuf could have been risked for their last four encounter with Rivers United, he decided against using him to ensure that he stays fresh for the final game.
“We do not have injury worries because we have brought only 20 players that we retained from those that took part in the just concluded league season to Kaduna,” Bala told SportingLife.ng.
“The only injury problem we had before now was that of the knock sustained by Olayinka Yusuf in our game with Smart City. He was able to recover before our semi final game with Rivers United but we decided to rest him.
“We didn’t want him to aggravate the injury so we asked him to prepare for the final game. He is back for the final game.”
Tornadoes are through to the Aiteo Cup final again after they were beaten narrowly on penalties by Akwa United two years ago in Lagos after a goalless regulation time.
