Tottenham make last-ditch attempt to hijack Osimhen’s £70m Napoli move

Tottenham are reportedly trying to hijack Napoli’s proposed £70million move for Lille forward Victor Osimhen.

Reports from France and Italy have suggested that the Naples club were close to landing the forward.

However, it is now reported that although Osimhen wants the move, a few complications have arisen. Seemingly leaving the door open for Spurs for a player who has also been linked with Liverpool.

RMC Sport journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi, as cited by Sport Witness, claims that the fact the Nigeria international changed agents ‘a few weeks ago’ has caused some ‘differences’.

But Napoli still hope to complete a deal ‘within the next 24-48 hours max’. Indeed, a meeting should take place imminently.

However, ‘two English clubs, including Tottenham’ are ‘trying to slide into the uncertainty’. The name of the second team yet to be revealed, although it could be Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Despite Tottenham’s interest, it still looks as if the player will be heading to Serie A. However, Jose Mourinho is hoping for further complications, as he tries to find an alternative to the injury-prone Harry Kane.

Bayern Munich have Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and Chelsea’s Tiemoue Bakayoko on their radar as they look to replace Thiago Alcantara, according to a report.

Thiago looks likely to leave Bayern in the coming months after turning down a new contract with the German champions.

Previous reports claim Liverpool are keen, but TEAMtalk understands the Reds are not eyeing a move for the Spaniard.

Nevertheless, Le10 Sport claims Bayern are preparing for Thiago’s exit by sounding out replacements.

The Bavarians are aware that they will need midfield recruits given that, as well as Thiago, Javi Martinez and Corentin Tolisso could move on before next season.

Therefore, Bayern are reportedly keen on Ndombele and Bakayoko and could propose a loan deal to sign either player.
