Transfer window: Dumped Arsenal captain Aubameyang linked with Barcelona
Axed Arsenal captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, is being linked with Barcelona.
According to the Mirror, Aubameyang is in line to replace Sergio Aguero at Barcelona after the Gabon striker was stripped of the Arsenal captaincy yesterday.
Mikel Arteta refused to guarantee his former skipper will ever play for the Gunners again after another “disciplinary breach” last week.
The £56million star was dropped from the weekend win over Southampton for returning late from a trip to France and will now also miss Wednesday’s Champions League showdown with West Ham. He is also now no longer captain.

Manchester City legend Aguero, who joined Barcelona on a free transfer in the summer, is set to announce his retirement on Wednesday because of a heart problem.
Aubameyang would be an ideal replacement but his £350,000-a-week wages present a big obstacle to the Catalan club staggering under £1billion of debt.
