Transfer window: Newcastle to ‘hijack’ £3m deal as Howe seeks four January window
Newcastle’s new-found riches will be utilised this month with reports suggesting Eddie Howe is closing in on three transfers this month.
Kieran Trippier is most likely to be the first through the door at St James’ Park this month with some suggestions a deal could be completed by the end of the week.
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone appeared to accept that Trippier will look to move on this month.

“Kieran Trippier is an extraordinary footballer who has given us a lot and we will try to keep him,” Simeone said.
“We want him to stay, he’s an important player, but nowadays, when a player wants to leave, you can’t force them to stay. You can’t retain them.”
