Traore to undergo surgery after dislocating shoulder THREE times

Wolves star Adama Traore may need surgery after dislocating his shoulder three times in 16 matches this season.

Adama Traore and surgery

Traore sustained the damage in a tussle with Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga in Wolves’ 3-2 win in north London on Sunday, having suffered the same problem in the reverse fixture at Molineux in December, and the draw at Manchester United in January.

Wolves hope Traore will be available for their home game against Brighton on Saturday – and for the rest of the campaign – as they look to maintain their challenge for the top four, but boss Nuno Espirito Santo is worried about the 24-year-old’s apparent weakness.

The club are hopeful Traore will be able to play a significant role in their run-in, as they push for a top-four finish and look to extend their run in the Europa League, where they face Olympiacos in the last 16 later this month.

While there are no immediate plans to operate, the problem has left Nuno and his staff puzzled.

Traore is keen to avoid surgery for as long as possible as he is also desperate to secure a place in the Spain squad for Euro 2020.

Traore, who was born in Barcelona, has played for Spain at age-group level but has yet to win a senior cap, while he is also eligible to play for Mali.
