Tunisians miss Moses, Mikel

Tunisians were left disappointed not seeing the duo of John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya at the Taïeb M’hiri Stadium in Sfax on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles defeated their North African opponents 3-2 without their captain who was dropped by head coach Gernot Rohr over fitness issues, while Moses has called it quits with the national team to concentrate on his club career.

Sportinglife.ng understands that both players have a cult followership in Tunisia.

“Everywhere we went to, it was Mikel and Moses that they were asking after. You need to have seen their faces when they were told that Moses has quit the team and why Mikel was unavailable,” one of the media representatives who was in Tunisia told Sportinglife.ng.
