U23 AFCON: Amapakabo reacts to Dream Team VII 3-1 win over Zambia

Dream Team VII coach Imama Amapakabo has reacted to Nigeria’s 3-1 win over Zambia on Tuesday night, November 12, at the ongoing U23 AFCON in Egypt.

The encounter saw the Olympic Eagles come back from a goal down to claim a decent result that delighted the former Enugu Rangers manager.

Speaking with Lagos-based Brila FM, Amapakabo said the performance on the night was a product of hard work, even as he stressed they needed to respond after losing her opening group game against Ivory Coast.

“We prepared for this game, we planned for this game we knew that only victory keeps us in this competition and technically my defender made a mistake very early in the game.

“I think we got lucky there, they were not able to convert and I think the goal they scored was also from a counter which we had worked on and prepared for and as a coach I knew that we had made a tactical blunder in letting them counter us like that,” Amapakabo submitted.
