Uganda Friendly: Eagles to train at 5pm on Monday

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will hold their training session by 5pm today ahead of Tuesday’s international friendly against the Cranes of Uganda at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium.

21 of the 23 players will be available for the session following the withdrawal of Leon Balogun who is a slight knock and Kenneth Omeruo who has been excused to be with his pregnant wife.

Both Nigeria and Uganda are celebrating qualification for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations following Matchday 5 games over the weekend.

The Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by South Africa’s Bafana Bafana at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg to be sure of a ticket from Group E ahead of the final matchday, while the Cranes pipped Cape Verde 1-0 in Kampala to be sure of finishing as Group L winners.

Uganda defeated the Super Eagles by a lone goal at the Uyo Stadium in 2015 which was a friendly that marked goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama’s 100th international match. Farouk Miya scored with a powerful header.
