Usmanov remains keen to see Benitez appointed Everton manager

Everton backer, Alisher Usmanov, is supporting the appointment of Rafa Benitez.

Football Insider reports Usmanov has given the green light for Everton to appoint Benitez as their next manager.

The Toffees were ready to appoint the Spaniard last week.

But some fan backlash temporarily halted the deal, and former Liverpool boss Benitez was reportedly ready to walk away from the offer.

But Usmanov – who has a net worth in excess of £13Bn – is pushing for Benitez to be the next boss.

Usmanov isn’t even a shareholder, but is believed to be the club’s decision-maker. He sponsors several aspects of the club.
