Vicario nominated for Premier League Save of the Month

Former Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has been nominated for the Premier League’s Save of the Month award for August, thanks to his acrobatic stop for Tottenham against Manchester United.

The 26-year-old, who moved to North London this summer in a deal worth €20m, is nominated alongside England international Jordan Pickford, Jose Sa, Mark Flekken, Alphonse Areola and Alisson Becker.

Vicario’s save came in the second round of Premier League fixtures at home to United, reacting brilliantly to deny a bulleted header from Casemiro from less than 10 yards out.
