Why we want ‘Brazil’s Scalp’ on October 13 – Super Eagles Supporters

As fans across the globe have started countdown for the October 13, window for a great international football between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and their counterpart from Brazil in Singapore the situation is not different in Nigeria.

The Nigeria fans want nothing but an emphatic win in the international friendly,  “This is the only gift we want from the Super Eagles as Nigeria’s independence gift.” a fan with twitter handle @derealfan had posted on the occasion of Nigeria @ 59 commemoration.

“The only gift we want is the Brazilian scalp.”, another fan on October 1, reiterated the demand in his reply to the Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong’s Nigeria independence Day felicitation post via his twitter handle.

The Super Eagles captain had on October 1, joined the Nigeria Football Federation, and other Super Eagles players to commemorate their fatherland Independence Day.

Some of the fans advised the invited Super Eagles players to stay fit and play safe in their respective clubs so as to be able to give their best as they believe Nigeria can clinch victory at the Singapore National Stadium on the matchday.

“The planned friendly is coming 23 years after Nigeria, on their way to winning Africa’s first Olympic football gold medal, spanked the Selecao 4-3 after extra-time. Nigeria last played Brazil in 2003 at the opening of the National Stadium in Abuja. It ended 0-3 in the Selecao’s favour .
