Zidane furious with Real Madrid owner over failure to sign Pogba

Zinedine Zidane is considering quitting Real Madrid after rowing with club president Florentino Perez over the failure to land Paul Pogba, reports claim.

The Frenchman, who in his previous spell in the Bernabeu dugout won three consecutive Champions Leagues, was desperate to sign his compatriot from Manchester United.

But the move failed to materialise, with the Red Devils holding firm and rejecting potential part-exchange deals involving the likes of James Rodriguez and Mariano
Diaz.

This infuriated Zidane and according to Soccerlink, has even led to the 47-year-old considering a summer departure.

He wouldn’t be short of suitors considering his pedigree – but would most favour a return to Juventus.

Zidane represented the Serie A giants with distinction as a player between 1996 and 2001.

But with Juventus having leapfrogged Inter Milan into pole position to win the scudetto, Zidane may find current incumbent Maurizio Sarri in his way for the time
being.

The chance of the 1998 World Cup winner leaving comes despite Real Madrid occupying top spot in La Liga.

Having returned last season amid the chaos of the failed Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari experiments, Zidane has now managed to steady the ship at the Bernabeu.

Perez did back his man in the summer by recruiting the likes of Eden Hazard for around £100million.

The Spanish giants also spent big on Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy, Luka Jovic and Rodrygo.

The failure to sign Pogba, however, has irked Zidane enough to consider looking elsewhere.

As well as aiming for the La Liga title, Real Madrid also have eyes on reclaiming their Champions League crown and face Manchester City in a mouthwatering round of 16
tie next month.
