2018 FIFA World Cup: Deschamps picks Musa, Uzoho as Eagles best

France national team’s Head Coach Didier Deschamps who won the World Cup in France in 1998 as a player and also won this year’s World Cup in Russia as a coach has rated high Nigeria’s Super Eagles performance at the Russia Mundial.

Deschamps also went ahead to pick Eagles’ striker Ahmed Musa and Nigeria’s goalkeeper Francis Uzoho as the best in the Eagles’ team that represented Nigeria at this year’s world biggest football tournament.

Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr who attended FIFA’s meeting and awards in London at the weekend along with other national coaches and technical directors that attended this year’s World Cup in Russia disclosed this to SportingLife.ng.

Rohr disclosed that the coaches singled out Eagles and Argentina matches for analysis and Eagles got high ratings at the end of the day.

He also said that Ahmed Musa and goalkeeper Francis Uzoho also enjoyed high ratings from the International coaches that attended the FIFA meeting.

“Didier Deschamps believes in our team, the Super Eagles. An exciting thing is that they (the coaches that attended the post Russia 2018 World Cup) analyzed us well because it was Argentina or Nigeria for him (Deschamps).

“He also rated well Ahmed Musa and our goal keeper Francis Uzoho.

Rohr disclosed that he has good relationship with the France national team Coach which dates back to 28 years ago. “Our friendship dated since 1990 when we worked together in Girondins Bordeaux”.
