2019 AWCON: How Falcons Players Fared against Cameroon

Nigeria’s Super Falcons are through to the final of the 2018 Africa Women’s Africa Cup of Nation in Ghana after dumping Cameroon in the semi final 4-2 on penalties after scoreless 120 minutes.

Sportinglife.ng  takes a look at how the players fared.

Tochukwu Oluehi – 9/10:The Falcons stopper made some brilliant saves and was the team’s messiah during the penalty shoot-out.

Josephine Chukwunonye – 8/10:

She did a yeoman’s job at the right back and has proved a capable replacement for injured Faith Ikidi-Michael.

Ebere Ngozi – 7/10:

Ngozi converted the decisive penalty to send the Falcons to their third consecutive final.  She had a better game  unlike the previous matches.

Halimatu Ayinde – 7/10:

Getting better with each game with the way she has been able to hold her own in the midfield.

Osinachi Ohale – 6/10:

Has continued to combine perfectly with Onome Ebi in the heart of defence.

Onome Ebi – 7/10:

The captain didn’t give space to the Cameroonians.

Asisat Oshoala – 6/10:

Undoubtedly uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. She used her pace to her advantage when it came calling.

Rasheedat Ajibade 6.5/10:  A future Falcon to watch out for. She did not exhibit fear and kept pushing, despite being her maiden outing.

Rita Chikwelu 5/10:

It was not the best of performance from Chikwelu who struggled to contain the Indomitable Lionesses.

Ngozi Okobi 5/10:

She also struggled. 6/10

Francisca Ordega 5/10:

Not her day and was replaced by Anam Imo.

Desire Oparanozie 4/10:

She was missing from the start to the end.

Anam Imo – 5/10:

The Nasarawa Amazons forward has shown that she is not yet ripe for the big occasion.

Amarachi Okoronkwo – 6/10:

Another good performance from Okoronkwo.
