4-Nation Tourney: Falcons thrash Romania

 

Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Sunday returned to winning ways by defeating Romania 4-1 in the third place match of the 4-Nation Invitational Tournament in China which ended today.

The African Champions lost their opening match to China last Thursday.

Nigeria shot into the lead through Chiwendu Ihezuo in the 44th minute, only for the Europeans to equalise in the 55th minute.

Falcons captain, Onome Ebi put Nigeria ahead again in the 63rd minute with vice captain Rita Chikwelu adding the third.

England based, Ini Umutong netted the 4th goal in the 83rd minute which sealed the game for the Falcons.

Next for the Falcons is the Cyprus Women Cup starting from February 27th, 2019.
