Lack of fitness has been cited as the reason why Super Falcons Head Coach, Thomas Dennerby had to drop china-based Asisat Oshoala from next week’s international friendly against France.

Oshoala was originally in the 23-woman list drawn up by Dennerby for the match, but was forced to drop her later, when it became apparent that her fitness level was in doubt.

The current Africa Women’s player may also have run into trouble with her Chinese club, Dalian Quanjian FC for reporting late to camp.

They are not happy with her that she did not report for the team’s pre-season friendly against Barcelona Women FC in Cyprus  early in the year.

A source told SportingLife.ng that she blamed it on visa issues at the Cyprus Embassy in Nigeria.

“I hope she is not fined by the club because they kept wondering what she was doing in Nigeria.

In the case of Rashedat Ajibade, she was excused for being under the weather.

The FC Robo OF Lagos player who is also in the U-20 Women’s squad, the Falconets was invited by Dennerby as a result of her exploits at last month’s WAFU Women’s Cup in Cote D’Ivoire.

The eight–time African champions are up against their French counterparts – the fifth best ranked team in women’s football- at the Stade MMArena in the city of Le Mans, France.

The match, scheduled for Friday, 6 April will be the Super Falcons’ first since winning the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in December 2016.
