Afelokhai promises to give best for Eagles

Enyimba’s Theophilus Afelokhai has vowed to give his best to justify his late minute inclusion in the Super Eagles squad preparatory for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa and the friendly tie with Uganda slated for Johannesburg and Asaba later this month.

Afelokhai was called up as a replacement for Francis Uzoho who got injured in his Spanish side, Elche’s 5-1 loss to Cadiz last weekend and the goalkeeper has told SportingLife.ng that he is delighted with the opportunity giving him to serve his fatherland and he is ready to grab it with both hands.

He said it is his resolve to continue serious training to ensure that he is fit before the start of preparations for the two fixtures and that he has been doing that without issues because he is aware of what is expected of him before the camp resumes.

“I am happy to be given a chance and I intend taking the opportunity with both hands,” Afelokhai told SportingLife.ng.

“It is a chance I will relish with all might. I am happy with this opportunity and I promise to make myself available in top shape for the build-up to the games.”
