Flying Eagles, Saudi Arabia friendly tie canceled

The Flying Eagles’ supposed friendly match with Saudi Arabia fixed for the Asian land next week Tuesday has been canceled.

Nigeria’s U20 team are presently training in Abuja ahead of the African U20 Cup of Nations slated for the Niger Republic and the Flying Eagles were expected to use the game with Saudi Arabia as a tune-up towards the competition but the game will no longer hold.

One of the assistant coaches of the team, Abdu Maikaba told SportingLife that he was told that they won’t be going for the journey again and that they will continue preparing for the competition in Abuja until they will leave for Niger Republic latest by January 27.

“I have been told that we are no longer traveling to Saudi Arabia for the friendly match. I was not giving any reason for the trip’s cancelation,” Maikaba told SportingLife.ng.

The Flying Eagles will play in Group A alongside hosts Niger, South Africa and Burundi in the competition that will start in Niamey from February 2nd to 17th
