Ademola Lookman’s improvement tickles Atalanta boss Gasperini

Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini is glad with the level of improvement of Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman under his watch.

An elated Gasperini bared his mind in an interview with Pazzi di Fanta,insisting that the former Everton man is on top of his game despite intermittent struggle for goals at Atalanta.

“We all see Lookman‘s potential and speed, but we must admit that he once didn’t play so offensively,” Gasperini said per Pazzi di Fanta.

“He used to score 6/7 goals a year, while now he is quick, good at dribbling, even strong with his head.

“I encourage him because every now and then, he hides from the game, but I believe that when he approaches the area, he can become a reference player for our team..”

The Nigeria international has so far scored eight goals and registered three assists in 21 league outings this season.

Interestingly Lookman cannot be said to be goal shy as he was a major hit for Super Eagles as the recently ended 34th AFCON in Cote d Ivoire where he netted four goals missng the highest goal scorer award of the tournament by whiskers.
