Aribo’s departure from Rangers provides ‘significant’ financial parting gift and outstanding profit
Nigerian international, Joe Aribo has left Ibrox for the English Premier League but not before landing his club a healthy profit on their investment made way back in 2019.
He has officially delivered Rangers a big financial boost with his move to the English Premier League at Southampton.

The attacking midfielder joined the Ibrox club from Charlton Athletic three years ago for a fee of around Β£300k. In the last year of his Rangers contract, he has opted to try his hand in England’s elite league. While gutted to lose such an important player who featured 70 times for club and country last season on top of a Europa League final goal, the Light Blues have cashed in.
His exit fee officially remains undisclosed but Rangers have hailed it as ‘significant.’ Fresh claims from respected transfer guru Fabrizio Romano state the deal completed is for Β£6m plus add-ons up to Β£10m.
Full maximisation of that would see an outstanding profit of Β£9.7 million as boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst looks to strengthen beyond the captures of striker Antonio Colak, playmaker Tom Lawrence and defender John Souttar.

Speaking of his move, Aribo said: βItβs an amazing club with a lot of history here, and itβs a good plan with whatβs to come next. Iβm really excited for the journey.
βThe Premier League is the best league in the world. Iβve been watching it since I was a young boy, itβs always been a goal for me to play here and show what I can do on this stage.
βItβs an amazing feeling, a dream come true. This is where Iβve wanted to be since I was a child growing up playing, so to say that Iβm here now is really exciting.β
