Enyimba have got cheering news ahead of the return leg of their Caf Confederation Cup semi-final fixture with Raja Casablanca of Morocco with the return to training of midfield general, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu.

Ibenegbu

There was an attempt to rush his return during the Group Stage of the 2018 Aiteo Cup but it was agreed that the former Heartland and Enugu Rangers player should not be risked and had to stay out even though he was with the team to Gombe.

The head coach of Enyimba Usman Abdallah confirmed Ibenegbu’s availability to SportingLife.ng but he stressed that the midfielder would only be sparingly used as they prepare for their trip to Morocco forthe second leg tie.

“Ibenegbu is back with us and training very hard to be included in the team to Casablanca. We decided it was not best for him to be used in some of the games we had played earlier but he is ready now to feature as part of the squad,” Abdallah told SportingLife.ng.

“We have missed his presence and we are certain that with him and others in the team, we can stage a comeback and put ourselves in a good position to qualify for the final. We are going to do our best to surprise our hosts. We won’t play second fiddle when we get there.”
