Cautious Jamiu Collins set for B/Mgladbach challenge

Super Eagles ace and SC Paderborn of Germany left back, Jamilu Collins may choose to be cautious as his team face Borussia  M Gladbach today in one of the Bundesliga ties and that is understandable.

The Nigerian international has been a customer to yellow cards in the last four matches escaping the hammer only in the tie against Union Berlin last Saturday. Other ties against Augsburg,Borrusia Dortmund,RB Leipzig and Werder Bremen has seen the former Rijeka of Croatia defender kiss the yellow card.

Ironically SC Paderborn have only managed a win in those five last matches losing two and drawing two.

Some fans of the side are a bit uncomfortable with the defence especially in the match against Borrusia Dortmund where Collins and his teammates surrendered a 3-0 lead as homers Dortmund came from behind to level 3-3 scoring the entire goals in the last 45 minutes.

The 25 year old who was impressive for Super Eagles in two legged Afcon qualifiers against Libya last year will not be having a tea party today as his defence line will be torn between avoiding the yellow and aggressiveness needed to checkmate B/Mgladbach who are eager to return to winning ways after back to back defeats by Worsburg in the bundesliga and İstanbul Basaksehir in the Europa tie.

Meanwhile Mainz05 star Taiwo Awoniyi joined in singing victory songs Tuesday after the club hammered Werder Bremen 5-0.

The Nigerian was not in action in the match but his teammates on duty went on goal rampage to earn a massive away win. As if it was a day set aside for them to shine, Bremen’s Jiří Pavlenka also added to the goal haul of the visitors with his own goal in the 15th minute.
