Some senior members of the Super Eagles have started appealing to the team’s head coach, Gernot Rohr to stay on as the tactician amidst growing concern that he is about to resign.
Rohr led the Eagles to the third-place finish at the just concluded AFCON but the Franco-German body language denotes that he could walk away any moment from now because of what had been written about him on
the social media and by journalists.
SportingLife exclusively saw a member of the Eagles squad relating the decision of the players to him on the need for him to reconsider his desire to leave the team because of the negative comments from some sections of the media.
The player told Rohr that it is the decision of all the players that he should be appealed to continue to tinker the team and that he should not dump them at this stage when they have evolved after some period of time on the team rebuilding.
The former Bordeaux coach didn’t say anything much during the conversation but he promised that he would think deeply about it and communicate his decision very soon.
