English Championship Is Tough–Etebo

Nigeria international, Oghenekaro Etebo has called on football lovers not to undermine the English Championship which he says is at par with some of the top flight leagues in Europe.

The Stoke City midfielder who is still adjusting to life in England revealed that he was still learning the ropes in the team which can explain why he has not been getting enough playing time.

“I am happy with everything that is happening for me at Stoke City, but I must admit it has not been easy.

“People always look down on the English Championship as a small league, because it is the second division, but it’s very tough.

“The team is trying hard to get back to the English Premier League, and I am also trying my best to keep playing regularly in the first team.

“I am happy that my efforts are eventually being seen and I am, sure that things will get better,” he said.

He however remains optmistic that they will end the season on a high even though they have not had the best of time since returning to the lower league.
