Europa League: Chukwueze shoots Villarreal into round of 32

Super Eagles new sensation, Samuel Chukwueze was at his best for Villarreal as he helped the Spanish team beat Spartak Moscow 2-0 in the Europa League.

Villarreal needed a win to finish top of the group as Rapid Wien and Steven Gerrard’s Rangers were breathing down their neck for a spot in the round of 32.

The former Golden Eaglets star wasted no time as he put the yellow submarines in front within the first 12minutes with a sweet left foot strike through the legs of his marker and past the helpless Aleksandar Maksimenko in goal for the Russian side, for his first goal in the competition.

And they secured the much needed victory when Karl Toko Ekambi finished off a pass from Pablo Fornals to make it 2-0. Former Arsenal midfielder, Santi Cazorla replaced Chukwueze with 10 minutes left on the clock to a rousing applauds from the home fans.

In the other match played simultaneously, Rangers lost 1-0 against Rapid Wien which took them to 10points, same with Villarreal but yellow submarines finished with a better goals difference to top the group while the Scottish team and Spartak Moscow were eliminated.
