Eze’s combination with Ndidi, Etebo and Aribo thrills Pinnick
Queens Park Rangers FC of England’s midfield pearl, Ebere Eze’s combination with three Super Eagles stars is already exciting President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick.
The football administrator is currently in London to ensure the Nigerian youngster completes the necessary documents to facilitate his switch of allegiance to the Super Eagles from England’s Three Lions.
Speaking exclusively to Sportinglife on the telephone from London on Sunday, November 24, Pinnick said: ”Can you imagine a midfield comprising Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo, Oghenekaro Etebo and Eze playing for Nigeria? I’ve no regrets talking to Eze, who visited me at home with his girlfriend, having also spoken with his father.
”Football crazy nations such as England, Spain, Italy, Germany to mention a few have fielded foreign nationals who grew in the system, which is the difference with ours. But, we need to make a solid representation at the Qatar 2022 World Cup and it starts with improving on your squad with quality players such as Eze.
Talks are ongoing but the player has requested for the chance to continue to focus on his club career which is going well so far, and that further progress will be made in due course. @thenff @EbereEze10

”Guess what? Do you know that Eze is crazy about Nigeria and wants to visit the country for the first time? Eze has never been to Nigeria, even though he is from Imo State. We talked at length in my house and I won’t relent on his pursuit until the deal is done. He is Nigerian. He is the next big football sensation and I would rather he achieves that mission wearing Nigeria’s jerseys, instead of playing for another country. Of course, we will always qualify for the World Cup. So, we should take our next World Cup outing, one that the world will talk about for decades to come,” Pinnick summed up.
Interestingly, over the weekend, NFF’s twitter handle revealed thar Eze paid Pinnick a visit in his London home, where the player was informed of the president’s desire, which echoes that of many Nigerians who are keen to see Eze represent Nigeria at international level.
