FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy arrives Abuja April 11

Nigeria Football lovers will have the privilege of seeing and if possible touching the FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy when it arrives Nigeria as it begins the touring of the 24 countries that qualified for the showpiece.

The Trophy Tour kicked off in Paris, France, venue of the tournament on February 24 with FIFA Legends Kristine Lilly and Laura Georges on hand to send the trophy and from there head for Jamaica, Chile, Argentina, Brazil,  USA, Republic of Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, Australia in March.

South Africa and Cameroon are the first two Africa Countries that the trophy will land before getting to Abuja on April 11.

Nigeria have always qualified for the tournament since its inception in 1991 and have reached the quarter final in 1999 which remains their best record.

Super Falcons of Nigeria are in Group A alongside host nation France, 1995 winners Norway, and Korea Republic.

The eighth edition of the competition commences on the 7th of June, 2019 and will reach its crescendo one month after.
