I underestimated Mayweather- Tenshin Nasukawa

Tenshin Nasukawa admits that he “underestimated” Floyd Mayweather before his defeat in an exhibition boxing match on New year eve.

It took less than three minutes for ‘The Moneyman’ to knock down the Japanese kickboxer three times in a totally one-sided bout of exhibition boxing at Saitama Super Arena on the northern outskirts of Tokyo.

Nasukawa’s father threw in the towel after 140 seconds of the first round as his 20-year-old son bravely teetered around the ring trying to get up.

Nasukawa wrote on Instagram: “I am disappointed at myself since I thought I could have done better.

“Despite all the things that happened leading up to the fight, I came to realise how truly great Mayweather was.

“I was the one underestimating him. I promise to make it to that level.”
Mayweather had a 4kg weight advantage for the contest, which was worth a reported $9m and was widely criticised.
