Ibadan Set To Host Propella 3×3 Basketball Event

Since its inception in 2019, the competition, aimed at taking kids off the streets, has over the years provided a platform for basketball players in the state to display their skills.

It has also become a discovery source of many young players that have gone on to represent their states and National teams.

According to the Convener of the basketball tournament, Mr Tunde Popoola who is also the Director of Sports and Training at the Oyo State Sports Council, over 13 teams have registered their intention to be part of the annual basketball developmental competition.

The teams include, Beavers of Lagos, Peekay Hoopers from Ile Ife, The Polytechnic Ibadan, Hoop Dreams, TTP Hoopers as well as Mama Gold.

Others are Liberty Spears, UI Hoopers, Egbeda Basketball & Tourism, Raptors of Lagos, Raising Stars, Book n Ball Academy of Osogbo and Showtyme.

The 2023 edition is the first time the tournament would be having teams from outside Oyo State participating in the competition.

First, Second and Third placed teams will receive cash prizes with the Champions going home with #200,000, runners up will get #100,000 while the third place team will be given #75,000.
