Ideye completes switch to Turkish club Goztepe

Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye has completed a switch to Turkish Super Lig club Goztepe on a two-year contract.

The 31-year-old Ideye moved as a free agent after he did not exercise option of an additional year extension to his contract with Greek club Aris Salonika, where he staged a comeback to football after he enduring a difficult spell in China.

Ideye, who kick-started his league career at defunct NPFL champions Ocean Boys’ won the 2013 AFCON with the Eagles, has previously plied his trade in Switzerland, France, Ukraine, England, China, Spain and most recently Greece.

The Edo state-born Ideye netted six goals in 27 appearances for the Super Eagles.

At the last count, Ideye netted eight times in the Greek topflight last season and was earlier linked with a switch to Galatasaray before opting for Gotzepe.
