I’ll kiss Glass House final goodbye in 2022-Pinnick

President of Nigeria football Federation Amaju Pinnick says he will channel his time and energy to spending quality time with his wife and children when his tenure expires in 2022.

Pinncik who survived a battle royal against Ambassador Chris Giwa in the course of getting his second term, said he has made up his mind not to contest again. Apparently emotional about the fight to the finish scenario that heralded his second coming, the former Delta State FA chairman asked for and offered apologies to those he may have offended and who offended him in the course of the job.

“After this tenure I am not contesting again, I will like to go home to my beautiful wife and kids.  I bear no grudges against anyone,” he said

Pinnick who expressed delight that FIFA did not ban Nigeria in the course of the Glass House imbroglio said it would have cost the nation a lot.

“Imagine if we had been banned, the Super Eagles who have qualified for the Nations cup in 2019 would have been denied that, the Super Falcons who have clinched their 9th African Women’s Nations cup and have a ticket to the world cup in France, our Beach Eagles who have qualified for the World cup in Paraguay, all these would not have been possible,” he submitted

On the disparity in the remuneration of the male and female national team players Pinnick said though no one would expect that both teams be treated equally, the Super Falcons are having improved package describing the national teams as special brands.

“Our national teams are special brands we certainly don’t treat them with levity.  The super falcons are getting their fair share. We told them if they win the nations cup they will get $10,000 each and that we gave to them.

There were people who approached the Federation to say we want to appreciate the girls and I said no don’t give to the Federation, I will give you their account numbers and you credit them directly, let them feel that appreciation coming directly from Nigerians,” he said.

The New Year promises to be action packed for the country as virtually all the national teams will be on duty as the seek laurels across the globe.
