Injured Kalu challenges Eagles to beat Brazil

Injured Super Eagles wing attacker Samuel Kalu has challenged his teammates to win the friendly match against Brazil which holds on October 13 in Singapore.

Kalu who got injured in training at the weekend was part of the team that played Ukraine in last month’s friendly Dnipro which ended 2-2.

He said the friendly was an opportunity for Nigeria to show that they can match the five-time world champions.

“I am aware of the fact that Brazil has a quality team and very good players like Neymar, Philippe Courtinho, Fabinho and the rest. These are top quality players that are also playing in top clubs in Europe, but the Super Eagles team also has great and young players and we are desperate to make names for ourselves too.

“For us playing against these big stars in the Brazilian team is already a big motivation for us to stand out and to perform well in the friendly game. I believe in our squad. We are capable of doing well and win like we almost emerge winner against Ukraine.

“We are going to even play better than we played against Ukraine because this time its Brazil we are playing against. I am seriously banking on my team to get a good result against Brazil come October 13 in Singapore”, Kalu who has since been replaced by Solomon Otabor.
