Injury rules Balogun out of Eagles, Uganda Friendly

Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun is out of Tuesday’s international friendly match against the Cranes of Uganda due to injury.

The Brighton defender who has since returned to his base in England picked up a slight knock in Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations encounter against South Africa which ended 1-1 and secured Nigeria’s qualification for the tournament next year.

“ He has been excused from the and did not return with the team to Nigeria,” said a team official.

Balogun flew back to London from South Africa.

Meanwhile the Eagles defender who has been a key figure in the heart of defence also expressed his delight after Nigeria’s qualification.
