International Friendly: Senegal hold five-time world champions Brazil to a draw

 

Senegal and Brazil settled for a 1-1 draw at the end of 90 minutes in Wednesday’s international friendly played at the National Stadium in Singapore.

The five-time world champions went into the offensive first when Manchester City striker, Gabriel Jesus hanging out on the right suddenly cut in to find Firmino who got the ball past Senegal’s goalkeeper Gomis in the ninth minute.

However, on the dot of half time, Senegal who are Africa’s number one ranked team drew level from the penalty spot through Famara Diedhiou.

In fact, Senegal could have won the match that stretched into five minutes of added time as Liverpool’s talismanic player, Sadio Mane hit the goal post after the Brazilian goalkeeper, Ederson had been beaten in the added time.

Brazil will face Nigeria in their next second friendly on Sunday at the same venue.
