ITTF World Ranking: Quadri leaps to 21

Despite claiming the ITTF African Championships in Mauritius last month, Aruna Quadri has leaped to 21
in the October ITTF World Ranking released on Monday by the world table tennis ruling body.

However, among the biggest movers in the world is 22-year-old Olajide Omotayo whose semifinal berth in
Mauritius changed his fortune in the rating after the former national junior star moved 63 steps up in
the global ranking.

Quadri, who dropped from 18 to 22 in September, gained some points to rise to 21 in the latest ranking.
Omotayo who was ranked 203 in September amassed points from his performance in Mauritius to move up to
140 while the second highest ranked Nigerian remains Segun Toriola who also gained points from
Mauritius to move from 140 to 135.

Bode Abiodun was not left out of the improvement as the Portugal-based star rose to 189 from 354, while
junior international, Tobi Falana also leaped 300 from 504.

However, China’s Fan Zhendong held on to the top as the Chinese star remains world number one and he is
closely followed by compatriot – Xu Xin who is ranked number three.
