Iwobi had a good game against Liverpool–Emery

Arsenal manager, Unai Emery may have left Anfield a disappointed man, after Saturday’s 5-1 loss at the hands of Liverpool, but he still had reasons to celebrate some of his players for their performances.

One of such players who earned the praises of the Spaniard was Alex Iwobi.

Incidentally it was Iwobi who played for 90 minutes that set up Maitland-Niles for the opening goal of the match in the 11th minute.

“There were some positives, Ainsley played as right winger and scored. Iwobi, after some matches not playing very well, he played 90 minutes with a good performance,” Emery told reporters after the game.

He however blamed his defenders for losing concentration.

“But defensively we need to be stronger, to work.”

“Our defensive moments in our box, it’s my responsibility.”
