Kalu sees red in Bordeaux’s defeat to Marseille
Bordeaux and Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu got the marching orders in Tuesday’s Ligue 1 encounter against Marseille who won by a lone goal at the Stade Velodrome.
The 21-year-old who was making his 18th league appearance for the Girondins was booked for a harsh tackle on Lucas Ocampos in the 25th minute.
It was the Nigerian’s first expulsion in the French top flight which caught Ocampos’ shin with a badly-timed tackle that saw his feet off the ground.
A 42nd minute header from Boubacar Kamara’s separated both sides to consign Bordeaux to their third defeat in a row.
The win was Marseille’s first at home since November.
