Leao doubtful for Milan for UCL semi-final with Inter

Rafael Leao was forced off the pitch early into Milan’s win over Lazio and he is now in serious doubt for their upcoming Champions League semi-final clash with Inter.

The 23-year-old Portuguese winger came off the pitch just 11 minutes into the match against the Biancocelesti on Saturday, seemingly suffering a muscle injury.

Fans were immediately concerned but he tried to reassure them when leaving the San Siro, suggesting that he was ‘fine’ and that it was ‘nothing serious’.

Leao is one of Milan’s most important players and this season he’s scored 13 goals and provided 13 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Leao suffered an elongation of the right abductor in the win over Lazio and now could be forced to miss the first leg of Milan’s Champions League semi-final with Inter.

Whilst it’s only a minor injury, it still could rule him out of the match, so his condition will be closely monitored, and Stefano Pioli will wait until the last possible minute to decide whether to start Leao or not.
