Napoli begin hunt for midfield reinforcements

Napoli are expected to make some changes to their midfield in the summer and have started lining up a number of possible reinforcements.

The Partenopei are on cloud nine now after mathematically securing their first Scudetto in 33 years, with their 1-1 draw with Udinese earlier this week being enough to guarantee their league title.

A key reason why Napoli flew to the Scudetto this season was because of their impressive work in last summer’s transfer window, something that will be repeated on a smaller scale at the end of this season.

As detailed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli will send Tanguy Ndombele back to Tottenham and put Diego Demme on their transfer list, leaving two gaps in the squad.

Talks with Piotr Zielinski over a new contract also haven’t proven particularly fruitful and he could be sold too, forcing them to identify a number of possible replacements.

The top two on Napoli’s list for now are Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi, who is also wanted by Roma and Juventus, and Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners.

Also being followed are two Fenerbahce talents, 23-year-old Ferdi Kadioglu and 18-year-old Arda Guler.
