Ahead of the glamour friendly against Liberia in Morovia today, Enyimba forward, Mfon Udoh has expressed his desire to repay the faith placed on him by Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr.

The former Akwa United star, who made his Super Eagles debut in November 2014 has seen his progress hindered by injuries especially from last season but he appears to be back to full fitness this year following his outstanding form for the Aba Elephants in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Mfon’s form has caught the eyes of Rohr and the German tactician has now included him in an 18-man squad for the match against Liberia alongside his Enyimba teammate Sunday Adetunji, FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s Adeleye Olamilekan and Ebube Duru of Lobi Stars.

“I feel excited for the invite and hope to repay the faith of the Coach in me.” Mfon, whose 23goals still stands as the highest scored in an NPFL season, told SportingLife. “I’m glad to have another opportunity to represent my darling country. I’ll try my best to justify my invitation.”

Super Eagles defeated Seychelles 3-0 on Saturday in the 2019 Africa Nations Cup qualifier (AFCON).
