Lockdown: Table tennis to the rescue for Gini Wijnaldum

 

Coronavirus chaos might be causing chaos with the sporting calendar, but Liverpool star Gini Wijnaldum is keeping fit and positive.

It’s not yet known if and when the season will be finished – despite Liverpool being a whopping 22 points clear of Manchester City.

Wijnaldum isn’t letting the situation get him down, though. The experienced midfielder posted a picture of himself on Instagram playing table tennis in his house. He added the caption: “Gotta stay busy.”

“If we won it in an empty stadium and the fans weren’t there, I’d be gutted for them,” the Dutch international told newspapers.”Obviously, if there are no fans at Anfield, then it will be a bit of a blow.

“Until a decision is made on how we go on from here, then we just have to deal with it. But when it happens, we are still bringing the title to our fans, definitely.”Jurgen Klopp claimed the safety of fans and staff is a priority.
